Harp’n Hoedown

Celebratin’ 20 YEARS of Lyra Society’s mission of promoting cultural equity through access to harp education.

Lyra was founded by Elizabeth Hainen in 2004…

when she discovered abandoned harps at the Philadelphia High School for Girls and saw need for harp education access.

Fast forward to 2024 and we ain’t goin’ anywhere

Thanks to y’all, the Lyra Family, we give access to harp education, mentorship, and college & financial aid guidance at no cost in five schools with 30 harps and five teaching artists. With Lyra’s programming, 100% of our graduates attend college. Many are first in their families to do so.
