The Lyra Society is pleased to announce our first community outreach concert to serve as our annual spring benefit concert. Ann Hobson Pilot, former Principal Harpist of the Boston Symphony, will return to her alma mater, Girls’ High School, to perform with Philadelphia students in a stunning performance of strumming harps. In addition to her performance, Ms. Pilot will present her PBS documentary “A Harpist’s Legacy.”

This concert will celebrate our first year teaching at Philadelphia High School for Girls. We ask our patrons to endorse this achievement by giving their annual spring gift in support of this free concert to our neighbors in North Philadelphia. (All Donors Will Receive Reserved Concert Seating and Special Mention in the Program)

In addition, Lyon & Healy Harp Manufacturers has offered the Lyra Society an amazing challenge! If we can raise an additional $3000, they will give us a new Prelude 40-string student harp, valued at $4950. If we can raise these funds by the concert it would be incredible news to share live at the performance.

There is no doubt that our 2012 Benefactors for the Lyra Society generated the large response and turnout for Jennifer Koh, concert violinist at her riveting concert last year. We raised over $12,000! Please consider committing as a $500 Benefactor for the April 5 event. As a benefactor you will be given eight reserved concert seats and featured mention in the invitation and program. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a FREE concert for the students and community of North Philadelphia.
